Nutrition Amora is a new smoothie and juice bar that has opened up in Port Macquarie and we couldn't resist stopping by and having a taste and a chat with owner Alvin Naidu.
Could you tell us a little about the journey you've taken in launching Nutrition Amora and what inspired you to start your own business?
Late last year, my young family and I drove to Port Macquarie for a short holiday and to visit friends. In that time we absolutely fell in love with this place. It was so calming to the soul, beautiful beaches and beautiful people - you can sense the aura of kindness and supportiveness in the community. My partner Janet and I thought this would be such a great place to possibly raise our daughter, now 1-year-old, Amora.
I've always had the Australian dream of having my own small business that would help provide for my family and give back to the community. However, it was the day that Amora was born that I found my reason to make this a reality. I decided to set my sights on opening my own juice bar that provided protein shakes and açai bowls. Our daughter is the biggest inspiration to us in starting this journey and making our vision come true.
Everyone that meets you is greeted with happiness and struck by your smile. It is obvious that this has contributed to your success. Can you give us more insight into your beliefs around positivity?
I grew up and thrived in strong and connected communities, and combining those experiences along with my current experiences as a new father meant we weren't going to get into business to just make a living, but to make a difference.
We wanted to bring something that would reflect the way Port Macquarie's embrace makes us feel, and have our locals join in and feel good too. That's why we are focused on nutrition. Our positive attitude is showcased in our character, and it's also a response from our genuine appreciation for everyone who has enjoyed coming to our place and leaving with a positive experience.
Why are your Açai Berry Bowls so popular?
Although açai bowls have been around for years, what makes our açai so popular is because of the smooth creamy texture that we produce with the highest quality of açai that is accompanied by fruits and granola and a delicious topping of your choice. Biscoff is my favourite topping by the way!
